OUR COACHING
At Hidden Coast Surf we're much more than just a surf school. We believe that hiring a private, technical surf coaching is the fastest way to improve. Good coaching is all about getting specific therefore we aim to provide you with clear, concise and unambiguous technical surf coaching to make you a better surfer in the most efficient (and enjoyable) way possible.
IN-WATER
ASSISTANCE
This involves briefing on the beach before and during the water time so you can plan what to work on. With a coach by your side in the water, you can receive realtime feedback as you surf and start to make changes and therefore rapid improvement.
This can be in the white water with a coach standing in the water or out the back with a coach on a board with you depending on what you are working on.

CLASSROOM THEORY
LESSONS
Video analysis is by far the most effective tool used in our surf coaching. We can observe our own surfing from an outside perspective (sometimes a humbling experience!) and with the help of a coach see our strengths and our weaknesses.
With our classroom theory lessons we will learn about theoretical aspects of all things surf; how to stand correctly, how to control a surfboard, specific textbook examples of biomechanics of surfing, and so much more!

- Board rental not included. We tend to find that it is better for clients to bring or rent their own boards as then they can use them outside of lessons and have a greater choice if they rent.

OLI DAVIES
Meet Oli who founded Hidden Coast Surf in June 2016. We provide hassle free, straight forward surf coaching from the beginner to the advanced.
I had been working in Nosara Costa Rica as a technical surf coach for a number of years and through this role quickly realised that this place had so much potential for surfers to improve. Quickly.
Enter Hidden Coast Surf Nosara. Named due to the relatively uncrowded nature of Nosara and the added element of adventure that comes with exploring the even less crowded beaches around this wild and beautiful coastline.

GET SOME FOOTAGE
Over to you! Just a few minutes of video footage of you surfing is ample for us to quickly and easily identify areas you need to work on.

UPLOAD IT
When you book a session we will send you a link to easily upload the footage to us for analysis. This will need to be at least 3 days before the session commences.
03
COACHING SESSION
We'll arrange a Zoom call with you at a convenient time where we will go through and breakdown your footage in detail. Here you can ask questions and we will set specific goals for you to work on.
